Gemma Christina Arterton is a Hollywood actress and well known for films like Clash of the Titans, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Quantum of Solace ( James Bond film) and Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters. Before films she has also played eponymous protagonist in the BBC adaptation of Thomas Hardy's Tess of the D'Urbervilles In 2011, Gemma was nominated twice by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts for her performances in Tamara Drewe and The Disappearance of Alice Creed .
Gemma was born and raised in Gravesend, Kent, UK. She was born with extra fingers which later removed by surgery as she is girl and six fingers might not look appropriate.
Her father is a welder and her mother a cleaner and got divorced when she was 5. so Gemma lived with her younger sister and her mother. Gemma's sister, Hannah, liked to sing, whereas Gemma chose acting.
