Housefull 3 actress Nargis Fakhri revealed that recently she left India because she was suffering with life-threatening illness.
In an interview, Nargis Fakhri dismissed rumours that she had been ditched by rumoured boyfriend Uday Chopra and had a nervous breakdown.
In an interview to DNA, the actress said, “When I came here, I had arsenic and lead poisoning and no one knew what was wrong with me. It can happen in many ways - it could be in the water, food, rusted lead pipes in an old building… The doctor tested me, but he was so scared because it was at a very high level and I asked him ‘What do I do?’ Then I cured myself. Ayurveda is based on naturopathy, herbs basically but it was a combination of different things that I researched and six months later I got the test done again and there was nothing! The doctor was like ‘Oh, my God! How did you do this?’ And I said I will tell you when I see you.”
Fakhri made her acting debut in the 2011 romantic drama Rockstar, for which she received a Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut nomination. She later appeared in the successful comedies Main Tera Hero (2014), Spy (2015), and Housefull 3 (2016), the second later of which was a Hollywood production.
Fakhri has completed work on three projects. The first is the biographical sports drama Azhar based on the life of Indian cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin. Fakhri will be playing former actress Sangeeta Bijlani, the second wife of Azharuddin, who will be played by Emraan Hashmi. She will also star opposite Abhishek Bachchan in the comedy film Housefull 3, which also stars Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Lisa Haydon. She will also feature in the romantic drama Banjo opposite Riteish Deshmukh. All three of these films are set to release in 2016.
